Ulriksdal Palace

Ulriksdal Palace - another suburban royal residence, built in 1643-1645 by architect Tessin years for Jacob de la Gardie Pontussona - Marshal of the Swedish army. Originally called Jacobsthal palace. In 1684, the palace acquired Queen Eleanor. The palace takes its name - Ulriksdal. Queen wanted to get possession of the palace of her grandson Prince Ulrik, son of Charles XII. However, Prince Ulrik died a year after birth in 1685.

In the palace complex also includes Ulriksdal Park herbs, greenhouse with established museum of sculptures in it, the palace chapel and the oldest theater in Sweden in the Rococo style.

Located on the western coast of the Baltic Sea Ulriksdal palace complex has a rich flora and fauna. In 1994 he was included in the National Park of Sweden Ecopark.
